The Glossary page is an educational tool to help people understand the technical terms that we use for our refurbishment process and refurbished products.

Terms  Definition
Carbon Footprint A measure of the amount of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere as a result of the activities of a particular individual, organization, or community.
CPU Central Processing Unit. The component of a computer system that controls the interpretation and execution of instructions
Display Port Cable It is an interface for digital displays, particularly computer monitors
Grade A Refurbished to an excellent condition
Grade B Refurbished to a good condition
HDD Hard Disk Drive (HDD) is a type of data storage device that is used in laptops and desktop computers
HDMI High-Definition Multimedia Interface is a proprietary audio/video interface for transmitting uncompressed video data and compressed or uncompressed digital audio data from an HDMI-compliant source
HDR monitor High Dynamic Range and indicates the display can accurately present video and other image content that's been saved in an HDR format, which conveys vastly more colour shades and nuances than previous standards
IPS Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) is a technology that keeps an eye on a network for any malicious activities attempting to exploit a known vulnerability.
Klarna A payment method that allows you to purchase your electronic device in instalments
LCD Monitor A liquid-crystal display is a flat-panel display or other electronically modulated optical device that uses the light-modulating properties of liquid crystals combined with polarizers
LED 'Light Emitting Diode' is a type of small light bulb that requires relatively little energy to produce a great amount of light.

Solid-State Drives, storage device containing non-volatile flash memory, used in place of a hard disk because of its much greater speed

TUV low blue-light

The product satisfies TÜV Rheinland's test criteria and that the user is not at risk when using in in the intended manner.

VGA Cable

Video Graphics Array. It is used primarily to link a computer to a display device

VGA+DP connectivity

VGA+DP connectivity refers to the ability to connect a device that uses a VGA (Video Graphics Array) interface and a device that uses a DP (DisplayPort) interface to transfer video signals
