We recently announced that for the 2021/22 season, we’ve partnered with the Belfast Giants. Supporting a local team and being involved in the local community that comes with it is super exciting for us. Being a local business, it's important to us to be involved and to make sure the people of Belfast and beyond know we're here to support them.
In our search for the perfect partner, we have certain brand values that we live by and wanted to make sure that these were matched. We both support our local community. Giving back is a huge part of what we do, helping local school and charities is something we love to be involved in and the Belfast Giants do just this as part of the Friendship Four.
The Friendship Four was born in Belfast in 2015, marking the start of a highly popular international ice hockey tournament that continues to grow to this day. The tournament was devised and has been developed by The Odyssey Trust, to promote education, social welfare, and community integration in Northern Ireland, building on the sister cities agreement between Belfast and Boston. The tournament last took place in Belfast in 2019 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Giants are part of a wider family too. The Odyssey Trust and W5 discovery centre based at the SEE arena, are a huge support for the local and wider communities. We proud to have a connection to these too with plans for future collaborations.
The RBU ‘bang for buck’ message is clear – Get high performance for low cost and if you haven’t been to a Giants game yet, this is certainly what you get! Action packed, fast-paced games (with a few fights thrown in for good measure!) For the price of a ticket, you’ll love every second.
Steve Thornton, head of hockey operations for the Belfast Giants said: “As an organisation we are always looking for ways that we can be more sustainable and we love the ethos of RefreshedByUs, which is a great local company offering high spec sustainable alternatives for IT tech. The new Shootout game night activation is a great example of how we work with our partners to showcase their services whilst making it fun and engaging for fans.”
We’ve joined forces with the Giants not only for the 2021/22 season, but for the foreseeable future. When you're at the home games, you’ll see our name around the rink in the green banner. Plus, if you look up around the arena, you’ll also see the RBU logo above a box!
We’re also super excited to sponsor number 2 defence player Sam Ruopp.
As part of our new partnership, we’re giving fan members a chance to win an Apple Macbook in our match night competitions. Two members of the audience will be chosen to play and given 10 chances to score a goal though a custom boarded-up net. The winner of each night will meet again at the final game of the season to go head-to-head to chance to win this GIANT prize.
Keep an eye on our Facebook for more news and how to win tickets to see the Belfast Giants.
